Custom Model Building
There are a lot of people out there that like going to stores and picking out one of those model kits that they like and simply build it and stick it on their shelf but are there many people out there that have all kinds of parts and build them to their liking? Well of course there are and this is what is known as custom model building.
Where Does This Occur?
Well by the looks of things it seems that the industry to use these the most is of course the film industry and this is because they cannot use pre built model kits as it just would not work at all!. Movies would be pretty stupid if they used pre made model kits and this is because you would have a lot of movies featuring the same kinds of models!!
A film company will often get the best people in to do this and they will create perfect scale models from parts from all kinds of different model kits. Helicopters are created with RC helicopters and the same goes for things like RC aircraft. Of course with many of the older films you can actually see that the models are fake but with better technology being put into the making and the filming of scenes with models in them it is very hard to tell nowadays.
On top of the movies there are many people that build custom model kits for fun and just stick them into their homes. The best examples of these actually come from Hornby train sets and things like this because people build up the sets to go around the track and some of these really do look fantastic.
Of course some people just collect the same kind of thing and get loads of them like the Lego video at the start of the post!
